Additions and renovations to an architecturally and historically significant, early 1950’s church structure originally designed by Fehr and Granger. The orange brick building has a triangular plan that fans out to the south where the addition is being made, providing a new entry, elevator, offices, restrooms, classroom, and check-in for the full-time preschool that operates in the facility. Contrasting materials and colors were used to complement the original architecture in lieu of trying to make the addition appear original. Other building and site modifications were also made to provide enhanced accessibility, security, fire safety, and modernization while enhancing the arrival and users experience.
