Concept design services for the Doss Heritage and Culture Center to assist with a fundraising campaign for the new 40,000 sf Murphey Western Institute. The new 3-story facility with parking below will be located on the same 7.5-acre property as the existing Doss Center and will be situated in the northwest corner of the property. The exterior concept takes on a classical form with a hill country vernacular featuring a curved radius blending in with the existing site and parking while addressing views to the south of existing historic cabins. The entry features a grand staircase with a tiered fountain and symbols of cattle brands and native American tribes incorporated into the steps. Exterior finishes include stone, heavy timber, and corrugated metal panels. The program includes library space, education center, and a 330-seat performance hall and large event space.
