Schwarz Hanson Architects is proud to have partnered with the Fort Worth Zoo to design the newly reimagined Mountains & Desert exhibit in Texas Wild! Thoughtfully crafted to blend education with immersive design, this exhibit houses over 30 native Texas reptiles and amphibians—including 14 new species—within dynamic, habitat-inspired environments. A highlight of the space is Texas Nature Traders, an innovative program that engages young explorers in hands-on learning, fostering a deeper connection to the region’s wildlife. By uniting design with conservation, Mountains & Desert enhances the Zoo’s mission to inspire future generations to appreciate and protect the wild creatures that call Texas home. This project reflects our commitment to creating spaces that educate, engage, and endure.
