A planning exercise for Salsa Limon to design a master plan of their existing one acre site in the River District to provide multiple unique amenities for guests visiting Salsa Limon. With the primary intention to convert the existing 1,200 sf restaurant as their future commissary, a new restaurant would be required to replace the existing. The Owner’s goal was to provide primarily an outdoor dining experience while still being protected from weather. A covered tensile structure was provided allowing the folds of the structure to drain rain water into a fountain or Pila de Aqua. Adjacent to this structure is a covered stage with an area for guests to sit on artificial turf to enjoy music. A raised patio deck built around a large existing tree on site with string lights provides an inviting ambiance. The site also includes an outdoor fire place, a pickle ball court and a location for future AirBnb cabins.
