A prototype concept for Salsa Limon’s drive-thru and takeout restaurant for sites around Texas. The goal was to incorporate brand design standards, colors, and icons of the original diner into a futuristic and mid-century modern look. Utilizing Googie architecture, which is a type of futurist architecture influenced by car culture, jets, the space age, and designs symbolic of motion, the design style features upswept roofs, curvilinear, geometric shapes, and bold use of glass, steel and neon. Coupled with mid-century modern design philosophy, which consists of straight lines, a timeless feel, simplicity, essentials only, honest, craftsmanship and glamour.
